A SALUTE TO FATHERS

What is a REAL man? Someone has suggested that these ten things are what make a REAL man.

  1. A real man prays.
  2. A real man starts each day with prayer.
  3. A real man values his wife.
  4. A real man goes with his family to church.
  5. A real man is not afraid to cry.
  6. A real man hugs his family and says "I love you."
  7. A real man kisses his wife in front of his children so that the children can be secure in the knowledge of a united home.
  8. A real man shows the children a man can be gentle.
  9. A real man is not afraid to get down on his knees and play "horsie".
  10. A real man comes directly from work knowing his "real" job is about to start.

Then there is strength to consider in a man. The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift. It is in the burdens he can carry. The strength of a man isn't in the width of his shoulders, but is seen in the width of his arms that circle you. His strength is not in how hard he hits. His strength is in how tender he touches. Will Rogers said: "I never met a man I didn't like." Charles Dickens said: "A man can never be a true gentleman in manner until he is a true gentleman at heart."
