"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1
MEANWHILE. . .
When God makes a promise you can be sure,
He'll always follow through
His Word has stood the test of time,
for He's faithful and He's true
But between the promise and it's fulfillment,
very often... there's a wait
And that is when we struggle most,
cause we fear that God is late
The "meanwhile..." stage is a testing time,
preparing you for the goal
It's a season where you have two choices;
give up or give God control
God has an appointed time for you,
and He will bring it around
But until He does, it's up to you
to trust and stand your ground
God promised Abraham he'd be a father,
but it didn't happen right away
His "meanwhile..." stage went on for years
as he waited for that day
By human standards, they were too old
to ever have a son
But when they did, it left no doubt,
only God could get that done
Joseph had some awesome dreams,
but you know the story well
He had to spend some "meanwhile..." time,
in a cold and lonely cell
And when his brothers came to town,
he could have sealed their fate
Yet he showed love, when years before,
they had shown him hate
Moses needed some "desert time..."
to overcome his doubt
To trust that with the help of God,
he could lead the people out
The preparation he went through
took forty years or so
And he stood firm when he said to Pharaoh,
"Let my people go!"
Don't grow weary in doing well,
keep focused on the race
For in this life, you'll always have
an obstacle to face
When you keep your eyes on God,
your point of view stays clear
And that perspective holds the key
to casting out all fear
So if you're in a "meanwhile..." season,
the best thing you can do
Is live each day with calm assurance,
that God will bring you through
Ecclesiastes chapter three,
will help you understand
There is a time for everything
and those times are in His hands
