NO STONES TO THROW
I've made decisions and some choices that really turned out wrong
Sometimes I've started down some roads and lingered way too long
I've headed in a few directions, that I didn't need to go
So I'm aware, above all else, I have no stones to throw
I've known some hearts that broke in two, because of misplaced pride
I've listened to the angry words, when I wouldn't take a side
I've hurried past a hurting friend, when I needed to go slow
And in my heart, I'm well aware, I have no stones to throw
People do all kinds of things, that just may not be right
And when they want to be restored, some doors are locked up tight
But God can see beyond the "action"...to the person deep within
And separate the child He made, from the darkness of their sin
A woman was brought to Jesus; she'd been caught in the very act
Accused by men who sought her death, but Jesus didn't react
He wrote in the sand and gave a challenge, that cut them to the bone
"Let those who don't have any sin...be the first to cast a stone."
The accusers had to walk away, for none could rise above
Instead of being stoned to death, the woman saw God's love
Jesus didn't condemn her either; he said "Go...and sin no more."
He showed the mercy and forgiveness, that he was sent here for
Jesus has such deep compassion, for the lost ones, gone astray
How did we grow so cold and hard...and turn so many away?
Yes, some behavior is hard to take; it goes against the grain
But they need our prayers...not more stones...that only cause more pain
Try to picture the joy in Heaven, when a lost one calls God's name
With rivers of mercy flowing down, they just can't stay the same
Standing in the river with them, God's love can't help but flow
And we'll free our hands...to lift our brothers...when we have no stones to throw

John 8:1-11
"But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery.
They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?"
They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.
Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
"No one, sir," she said.
"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin." "
