LORD, TAKE MY HEART OF STONE

Lord, please take my heart of stone
And make it more like Yours;
One that puts other people first,
And from which compassion pours.

Soften it and mould it, Lord,
Into what You want it to be,
And then fill it with Your spirit
And take out every part of me.

Please fill it with Your mercy,
And your amazing grace,
Then fill it with one desire, Lord;
The desire to seek Your face.

As it grows more like Yours, my Lord,
Please fill it with power from above,
So that I can reach out to other people
And show them the wonder of Your love.

Please use it as Your vessel, Lord,
To minister Your joy and peace,
And may the words spoken through it
To bound and broken hearts bring release.

So, Lord, please take my heart of stone,
And fill it with life anew,
Until there is nothing of me left inside,
Just the things put in there by You.
