Wanted By God

God I really need you so, more than the air I breathe
When my whole world came crashing in, you're the one who didn't leave
By my side and in my heart, your healing hands restored
I was wanted and loved by you, how could I ask for more?

Being loved and being wanted is a basic instinctive need
And when it isn't being met, then hearts begin to bleed
People run from place to place, searching their whole life through
When all the while, they are wanted and they are loved by you

You want my heart, I need your love; it's a very simple quest
I need your strength, you want my trust, because you know what's best
You want my faith to be in you and I need your presence near
I need your grace to overcome and you want my conscience clear

You want relationship, I need your mercy; they both go hand in hand
I need your wisdom, you want obedience; both are needed to follow your plan
You want my worship, my praise and my song and I need to lift my voice
I need to hear you and you want integrity, when I face a decision or choice

You want me seeking your kingdom first and staying peaceful while I wait
I need to pray with confidence knowing, your answers are never late
You want my will to fade into yours, and I need to give up control
I need a covering and you want to cover me; body, spirit and soul

There may not be a "wanted poster" with your picture and your name
But rest assured that in God's heart, you are wanted just the same
While others may not see your value down here upon this earth
God sent His son to die for you and that's how much you're worth

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."
