Our hearts are at
half staff, dear Lord ...
in candle's purest gleam ~
for seven honored astronaut's
lives given for a dream ~
With joy they soared
the heaven's spheres
upon a mission true . . .
their craft earthbound, instead
Oh Lord, seven Home with YOU ~
Seven angels by You sent
gently wing'd them Home . . .
jeweled crowns not
helmets grace their heads
as Heav'n they roam ~
Upon those left, Lord, here
to grieve, pour your
healing balm . . . mend and
comfort broken hearts
needing peace and calm ~
As we pay tribute
to seven in poignant memory . . .
brave astronauts within
our hearts you
shall ever be ~
'Til we walk together
'pon gold'n streets on Heaven's
shore . . . united still our
hearts with yours to
praise God evermore !
