Scripture Promises
As you reflect on this week’s Scripture Promise over the next few days, realize that only the Father is aware of the precise words necessary for your spiritual needs at this time. Look up the verses in your preferred Bible translation. Write God’s words down in a personal journal, then convey in written form how this portion of scripture relates specifically to you.

April 3 - April 9, 2005

"Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain."
Deuteronomy 5:11 KJV

God gives us his name so that we might honor and praise Him; so that we might daily give glory to Him; God doesn’t give us his name so that we might use it in an abusive way. Even we as Christians need to watch the liberality of our tongue.

Thank you, Lord, for the ministry
of Your Word to us.
