Question for the Group:
Do you, as Anna, give some of your time to the Lord?
Challenge:
Discuss how you spend some of the "freer" moments of your days or nights.
Question for the Group:
Did Anna have a crowning moment? If so, when did it take place?
Challenge:
Name one or two "crowning moments" you have had with God.
Question for the Group:
Since Anna saw what some other eyes could not see, she had waited patiently for that day to come.
When did Anna see Jesus face to face and what were her immediate responses?
Challenge:
Discuss, as a group, when Jesus Christ became "face-to-face" real in your life.
Special Note:
As one who proclaimed Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Anna was not an energetic young "man" of eloquent speech. She was just an elderly, but patient widowed woman who allowed Him to be the priority of her life. Simeon had been there in the temple to see the Lord, but God wanted the representation of a woman there also. He did that by way of Anna. When Simeon saw the baby he blessed God and was ready to depart in peace, but Anna gave thanks and kept on going. God was not finished with her yet. Anna heralded in the first coming of the great Messiah and became the woman most blessed to see the first appearance of Christ.
Question for the Group:
Are you patiently waiting for the 2nd coming of Christ?
Challenge:
How do you proclaim the Good News with your life?
Blessed are all those who patiently await Christ's second appearance.
