Mary and Martha
Continued from Page 3

Something to Consider:

We women are loaded with the responsibilities of household, taking care of the housework, looking after kids, fulfilling the needs of husbands. For women who also work outside the home it is even more difficult to adjust and manage the time.

We women serve more than everything, i.e., our families, our family friends and our relatives, but but we women should not forget that “We have to serve our Savior, get His pleasure and delight.”

With these hectic jobs, we as women must give our hearts to Lord. (The tithes of our times; even if we think of 10% which is according to the Bible, should be at the % of 24 hours which comes to “two hours and forty minutes,” (2:40) each day. Do we do this?

Many of us could identify ourselves as being either a Martha or a Mary. It's interesting that the Marthas seemed to long to be Marys, but the Marys didn't yearn to be Marthas

We as women should learn from Mary.

We have some house jobs like Martha but we should give the first preference to listen and learn the Word of God

We should live our lives according to the teachings of our Savior Lord.

We as ladies should keep these words of Jesus Christ in mind which tells us that “Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke 11:42) so that He can dwell in us and we in Him.

Questions for the Group as we learned from Mary’s life:

  1. How do we show our care for being with Jesus Christ our Savior?
  2. What are some ways in which we can listen to the word of God and how are we showing that we care about God’s Word for our lives?
  3. Do we live a life according to teachings of our Savior? Describe ways in which we show this.

Questions for the Group as we learned from Martha’s life:

  1. Do we believe like Martha?
  2. Do we believe that Jesus is the resurrection and the life?
  3. Do we believe that even though we die we still live as our Savior lives?
  4. Do we believe that Jesus is our “Savior”?
