Meaning of her name: Bitterness in Egypt obstinate & stubborn
Her Ministry: Prophetess and she taught women and was a leader of worship.
Her home Life: Miriam lived in Egypt and came from the tribe of Levi. She was married to Calev and had a son called Betzalel. Miriam lived 86 years and died in 1274 BC. She was only 5 years old when God began to use her in the prophetic when she said that her mother would give birth to the one that would take Israel out of bondage.
Her Status: Moses’ sister, daughter of Amram and Yocheved oldest of their three children. Miriam was one of seven prophetesses listed in the Bible. She was also the sister of Aaron. Miriam was a co-leader with her brothers over children of Israel while in the wilderness.
Her Character: Quick to honor her mother and serve God, she was full of wisdom. She loved her father. Miriam was bold before the Lord and Pharaoh. She served as a midwife and helped newborns when they were weak and trying to survive; she stood out as a leader of women. Sometimes Miriam overstepped her bounds of authority that were placed over her by God.
Her Physical Attributes: There is no physical description of her, but she loved to dance before the Lord. She was strong and purposed in serving the Lord. She sang before the Lord could have had a beautiful voice. She kept her appearance neat and clean at witness to other women.
Her Ultimate Purpose: Encourager & leader of song

| Miriam’s forthright courage, her faith and her ability to think and take decisive action, even as a youth, help to understand why God chose her, along with her brothers, Moses and Aaron to lead Israel out of Egypt.
"I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam."
